Horror film 'Come play' based on the relationship between technology and loneliness

Director Jacob Chase has shared how loneliness and technology play an important role in his horror film 'Come Play'.

Steven Spielberg's Amblin Partners and Reliance Entertainment's film 'Come Play' revolves around a lonely boy named Oliver, whose friendship with a mysterious creature, Larry, via phone turns his dreams into nightmares.

Chase has tried to mix horror and technique in this film. Chase said, "Technology is all around us and it plays a big role in this film. But it's not about hacking or weird coding. It's a new version of the haunted house, with tablets and phones at the center of events."

The film is about the connection between technology and loneliness. He adds, "This aspect of it is very closely connected to Larry because he is a monster who comes from loneliness. Technology can be amazing but the way we use it also leads to loneliness."

'Come Play' will hit Indian theaters on November 27.
